What Is Celebrate Recovery?
Hope, Healing, and a New Beginning Are Waiting for You
Celebrate Recovery (CR) exists to encourage fellowship and to celebrate God’s healing power in our lives as we work our way along the road to recovery. We are changed as we share our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. As we progress, we become willing to accept God’s grace and forgiveness in solving our problems.
By working through 8 Recovery Principles, we grow spiritually, and are freed from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. This freedom creates peace, serenity, and joy, and most importantly, deepens our relationship with others and with our loving, forgiving Higher Power, Jesus Christ.
Meet the Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leaders

Judy Cockrum is a US Missionary and Assemblies of God Recovery Chaplain.
She and her late husband, Russ, founded Celebrate Recovery at GRACEHOUSE in 2012 after experiencing God’s restoration in their marriage and family.
Transformed from a hippie lifestyle with alcohol and drug addiction, they served in pastoral ministry for more than 20 years in Florida and Indiana before becoming US Missionary Chaplains to bikers in 1999.
They ministered nationwide for 16 years on two Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Although Russ passed away in 2020, Judy continues to serve as
a Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader, helping individuals find freedom from life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

Josh is a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and a grateful recovering addict who has personally experienced God’s transforming power.
After years of struggling with addiction and brokenness, he found hope and a new purpose through Jesus and Celebrate Recovery. He has been sober since February 5, 2016—a milestone that continually reminds him of God’s grace and faithfulness.
Josh is married to Christmas, who also serves as a leader at Celebrate Recovery. Together, they share a passion for helping others discover freedom, reminding people that no hurt, habit, or hang-up is too big for God’s grace.
He holds tightly to his life verse, Jeremiah 1:5 — “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” This verse continually affirms his calling to serve and walk alongside others in their journey of recovery.
What to Expect This Thursday
No spotlight. No pressure. Just a warm welcome.
We start with a family-style dinner at 6 PM—an inviting time to connect and share life together with those walking through the same struggles and hurts.
At 7 PM, teens and adults gather for a large group meeting with uplifting worship and inspiring teaching or testimonies. One of the evening’s highlights is the Token Ceremony, where we celebrate each person’s milestones and welcome newcomers.
At 8 PM, everyone has the chance to join Small Open Share Groups—safe, supportive spaces to reflect and share. Newcomers are invited to a special Celebrate Recovery 101 group, where questions are answered and friendships begin.
Every Share Group Leader has been through Group Leader Training, has completed the nine-month 12-Step study, and is personally walking in victory over their hurts, habits, or hang-ups.
Who Is Celebrate Recovery For?
Volunteer for GRACEHOUSE Kids
Since its founding in 1991, Celebrate Recovery has grown into one of the largest recovery support programs worldwide. Over seven million people have taken part in CR, across 37,000+ churches.
Whether you’re battling addiction, anxiety, anger, past abuse, trauma, grief, codependency, or any other life challenge, you are welcome here.
Two-thirds of people in CR seek help for issues other than drugs or alcohol, so whatever is holding you back, you don’t have to face it alone. And you don’t need to be a member of our church to attend.
